Aluminium Floating Docks

Floating docks are constructed with series 6005A T6 marine-grade aluminium alloy. They are supported by polyethylene rotomoulded floats, filled with high-density polystyrene foam. Rotational moulding and expanded polystyrene foam guarantee the perfect flotation and unsinkability of the floats.

The choice to use marine-grade aluminium frame and cleats for the dock systems is a testament to Poralu Marine’s commitment to quality and to environmental protection.

Aluminium offers considerable benefits.

Lightness: Aluminium has a very high strength/weight ratio. At equal strength, an aluminium structure weighs 50% of the weight of a steel structure. This is a considerable advantage when handling the floating or fixed docks, as well as for transport costs.

Resistance and rigidity: Aluminium is used in structures built to last. Taipei 101 is one of the world’s tallest skyscrapers located in Taipei. It’s aluminium façade was built to withstand winds of >200 km/h and a 5.0 earthquake measured by the Richter scale.

Sustainability: Aluminium naturally generates an oxide layer that protects it from corrosion. With a lifespan of more than fifty years, the facilities remain in perfect condition and do not require maintenance.

Design and manufacturing reliability: Aluminium meets a set of international design and implementation standards.

Recyclability: Aluminium is a material that is always 100% recyclable.

Total Cost of Ownership: When investing in a project with a long lifespan, it is important to consider the total cost of ownership. Several cost categories need to be considered including purchase price, transportation, installation, maintenance, and end-of-life cost.
